 | FOLLOWING GOD’S ORDER IN THE CHURCH TEXT : I COR. 14:40 ; Intro: Decently = means characterized by propriety of conduct or manner. I. A NEED OF APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR IN FOLLOWING GOD’S ORDER IN THE CHURCH. A. A Worthy Behavior: "as it becometh the gospel of Christ". Obedience to rules and regulations. Holy Spirit led. A God surrendered life. The admonition to Ephesus (Eph. 4:1). To Colossians (Col. 1:10). To Thessalonia (1 Thes. 2:12) To every member of this church. Walk worthy! Know and do the true faith works. B. A Spirit Motivated Behavior: "that whether I come and see you, or be absent". . A spirit led believer will always look right. Will put off old man and put on new (Eph. 4:24; Col. 3:10). C. A Commendable Behavior: "I may hear of your affairs". Church behavior is manifest to insiders and outsiders. Neighbors know how this church behaves. Paul would hear. Four things wanted to hear. 1. A Spiritual Faithfulness and Unity: "that ye stand fast in one spirit" To follow only THE Holy Spirit. To be united as one in following that Holy Spirit. To be solid and immovable. Rooted and grounded. A behavior of love and unity. 2. A Mental Unity: "with one mind". A determined will. Follow leader in united force. No pulling in different directions or in separate force. 3. A Faith Unity: "striving together for the faith of the gospel". Basis of unity. True faith. New Covenant. when everyone in a church is living the true faith system there will be unity. Jude's admonition (Jude 3). To the Thessalonians (1 Thess.4:1). 4. A Fearless Unity (v28). Adversaries = opposers. Their opposition is evidence of their condemnation. To saints it is evidence of salvation in God. Don't change your behavior because of this opposition. Don't be persuaded by it. III. IT IS A PRIVILEGED TO FOLLOW GOD’S ORDER IN THE CHURCH. A. A God Granted Privilege: "unto you it is given". Placed in position or circumstance. To grant as a favor. See God's purpose in being where he has put us. B. A Christ Related Privilege: "on behalf of Christ". Behalf = instead of. Standing as ambassadors, as representatives. To be the image of Christ to be seen in the world. Are you representing him. C. A Believing Privilege: "not only to believe on him". This alone a great privilege. Can come only by drawing of God (Jn. 6:44-45). To place total confidence for life and eternity. How is your belief in God today? D. A Suffering Privilege: "and to suffer for his sake". Evident opposition by some. Suffer in different forms. Rejoice in suffering (Acts 5:42). Glory in tribulations (Ro. 5:3). Joy in temptations (Jms. 1:2). Rejoice as partakers (1 Pet. 4:13). Opposition present against our faith. How are you standing? E. A Shared Privilege (v30). Had seen Paul & Silas arrested after casting out young lady's demon. Had seen them beaten. Saw them in prison. Couldn't see him now but had heard of his being in prison, the afflictions he suffered. They now suffered opposition. Shared with Paul in suffering on behalf of Christ. Shared suffering with Christ himself. How are you suffering today?

 | Travel Fund Needed for Philippines Trip
As you know, through the Seminary classes online has been a blessing. I’ve been extended two more semesters in manila to teach, and Bro. Sonny Agot has invited me to be their keynote speaker at their graduation in March of 2012 for the Seminary. Also, I will be teaching a week-long seminar there for the seminary and for Pastors. Hopefully, I can extend the trip to visit pastors who use my gospel tracts in their ministries as well. A round-trip ticket to the Philippines costs at least $1250.00. Please pray for this as the Lord gives me this opportunity to go for the cause of Christ.
Ongoing Prayer Needs
Here is a listing of the prayer need for the Mission work: A job for the Missionary, who is still bi-vocational. Been without work for 2 months now. Increased monthly support Increased attendances in both the Wilmington and Cincinnati missions Increased outreach to all parts of the world through tracts, internet, etc. Increased number of souls saved through the Mission Outreach Funds raised for the Bible Drive
Please pray for these needs that the Lord will supply the needs of the Mission work.
Your Brother in Christ,
Christopher Cartwright |
 | Have I Done My Best for Jesus?
I. I wonder, have I done my best for Jesus, Who died upon the cruel tree? To think of His great sacrifice at Calv'ry! I know my Lord expects the best from me.
(Chorus) How many are the lost that I have lifted? How many are the chained I've helped to free? I wonder, have I done my best for Jesus, When He has done so much for me?
II. The hours that I have wasted are so many, The hours I've spent for Christ so few; Because of all my lack of love for Jesus, I wonder if His heart is breaking too.
III. I wonder, have I cared enough for others, Or have I let them die alone? I might have helped a wand'rer to the Saviour, The seed of precious Life I might have sown.
IV. No longer will I stay within the valley - I'll climb to mountain heights above; The world is dying now for want of someone To tell them of the Saviour's matchless love.

 | Why I Am A Missionary Baptist INTRODUCTION The Apostle Peter says; be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you. " { I Peter 3:15 ; }, and I am confident that we, as Missionary Baptist, ought to be ready to give Bible reasons why we are Missionary Baptists, for if we do not hold Bible principles distinct, not taught nor held by other denominations, then we have no right to a separate existence from them
I. I AM A MISSIONARY BAPTIST BECAUSE JOHN THE BAPTIST WAS A, 1. MISSIONARY - In John 1:6, says; there was a man sent from God, whose name [was] John. The word “missionary " means ' one sent, “John was sent therefore he was a missionary. 2. BAPTIST - In Matthew 11:11; Says; Verily I say unto you, among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. Matthew 3:1. In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, We know he was a “BAPTIST “for Jesus Christ the son of God called him a BAPTIST. 3. PREACHER - In Matthew 3:1; Says; in those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, He preach, therefore we know he was a preacher. Read down and you will have '' JOHN THE BAPTIST A MISSIONARY BAPTIST PREACHER. II. I AM A MISSIONARY BAPTIST BECAUSE JESUS CHRIST WAS A; 1. MISSIONARY - In John 3:17; Says; For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 20:21; Says; then said Jesus to them again, Peace [be] unto you: as [my] Father hath sent me, even so send I you. Christ was sent, therefore He was a Missionary. 2. BAPTIST - Mark 1:9; 9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, who was a MISSIONARY BAPTIST PREACHER' therefore we know Jesus was a MISSIONARY BAPTIST ' because He had “MISSIONARY BAPTIST BAPTISM.' 3. PREACHER - Matthew 4:17, says: 17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Jesus preached, therefore He was a preacher. III. I AM A MISSIONARY BAPTIST BECAUSE THE TWELVE APOSTLES WERE; 1. MISSIONARY - In Matthew 10:5, Says ; These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into [any] city of the Samaritans enter ye not: THE WORD " MISSIONARY ' MEANS ONE SENT' THEY WERE SENT, THEREFORE THEY WERE MISSIONARIES... 2. BAPTIST - In Acts 1:21,22; Says; Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. THEY WERE BAPTIZED BY JOHN THE BAPTIST, WHO WAS A “MISSIONARY BAPTIST PREACHER, THEREFORE THEY WERE MISSIONARY BAPTIST. No one could take the place of Judas who had not followed all the way from the baptism of John down to the ascension of Jesus. 3. PREACHER - In Matthew 10:7; Says; 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. THEY PREACHED, THEREFORE; THEY WERE PREACHERS -HENCE; MISSIONARY BAPTIST PREACHERS’ IV. THE CHURCH WHICH WAS INSTITUTED BY JESUS CHRIST DURING HIS PERSONAL MINISTRY WAS A: 1. MISSIONARY - In Matthew 28:19, 20; Says ; Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world Amen. This church was sent out to preach the gospel to the whole world; therefore they were a “MISSIONARY CHURCH." 2. BAPTIST - Acts 1: 21, 22; they all had “MISSIONARY BAPTIST" baptism. All the first members of the church were baptized by John the baptist, a “MISSIONARY BAPTIST PREACHER," MATTHEW 3:1-6. Jesus was baptized by him. This probed Jesus to be a “MISSIONARY BAPTIST PREACHER." Jesus took this “MISSIONARY BAPTIST MATERIAL," and out of it He constituted His Church - Mark 3: therefore the church was a “MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH." 3. CHURCH - In Matthew 16:18. Says; And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. V. I AM A MISSIONARY BAPTIST BECAUSE GOD IS A: 1. MISSIONARY - John 3:17; John 1:6; I fact, when there was no one else to send, GOD sent Himself. He went in person and talked to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, Geneses 3:9-17. He sent Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joseph and hundreds of others hence we know God was and is a MISSIONARY. 2. BAPTIST - He sent the “Man Named John” who was a “MISSIONARY BAPTIST “therefore by this act we know that God was a MISSIONARY BAPTIST.
VI. I AM A MISSIONARY BAPTIST BECAUSE THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A 1. MISSIONARY - In John 14:26; says ; But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. The Holy Spirit was sent into the world- therefore we know He is a MISSIONARY BAPTIST. 2. BAPTIST - In Matthew 3:16-17; Says; Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 14} But John forbade him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15} And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer [it to be so] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him. 16 } And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 } And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. He endorsed the baptism of John, who was a “MISSIONARY BAPTIST “therefore we know that the Holy Spirit is a “MISSIONARY BAPTIST “. The baptism of John the Baptist was endorsed by Jesus Christ, the son, and by the Father and by the Holy Spirit. Mark 1:9-11; It was endorsed by the Church, and by all true Missionary Baptists of today, and by no others It was good enough for Jesus, the Apostles, the Church, Paul and others - it is good enough for me. VII. THE NEW TESTAMENT IS A; 1. MISSIONARY - It contains the doctrines and practices of all the Missionaries sent out by Jesus Christ. 2. BAPTIST ; Written by " Missionary Baptist " writers, like Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, James, Peter, and Jude, all of whom were members of " MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCHES " IT WAS INSPIRED BY A " MISSIONARY BAPTIST GOD " ITS WRITERS GUIDED BY A " MISSIONARY BAPTIST SPIRIT " and it was given to " MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCHES " II Tim. 3:16, 17; All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 ] That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. In Revelation 1: 4, 6: says; John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace [be] unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; 5 ] And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6 ] And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. IT CONTAINS MISSIONARY BAPTIST DOCTRINES, AND MISSIONARY BAPTISTS believe it all - every word of it from one side to the other. It is a “LAMP" to our feet and a LIGHT to our path. We love it, we cherish its truth, and we respect its wonderful teachings and expect to be judged by it at the judgment. The churches of our Lord Jesus Christ have not always been called by the name," MISSIONARY BAPTIST, but have borne many names, a few of which I name here; Donatist, Montanist, Novatians, Paulicians, Arnoldtists, Anabaptist, Baptist and doubtless by many other names too numerous to mention here, but in every case they were in fact MISSIONARY BAPTIST. The Lord gave His forerunner the name Baptist - hence it is a Scriptural name but really in fact the Church of Jesus Christ is to be identified by its doctrinal teachings more so than by name. These folks who have been called by all these various names have believed, taught and practiced in the main what MISSIONARY BAPTIST " OF TODAY BELIEVE, TEACH AND PRACTICE. By; E. C. GILLENTINE.
